As laboratories adjust to meet their customers’ demands or attempt to manage increases in sample intake, the opportunity to streamline sample prep processes increases dramatically. Of great consideration is assay scalability – taking your assay from cartridges to a 96-well plate can be a daunting task. Labs transitioning from manual processing to semi- or full automation will often experience growing pains that comes with this transition.

Dan Menasco is currently the Global Product Manager for Analytical Systems at Biotage where he applies his 20 years of experience in bioanalytical chemistry to develop and present novel solutions directed toward clinical, forensic, and biopharmaceutical industries using a variety of sample prep techniques. He has contributed and published several peer-reviewed articles and a book chapter on topics ranging from novel drug delivery systems to bioanalytical chemistry.
